Part 1 of this sweet Malibu evening because narrow Part 1 of this sweet Malibu evening because narrowing these down was impossible 🤍

This was our third year together, and somehow each one gets sweeter than the last. Nina told me her little dude walks by their photos hanging on the wall and asks when he gets to see me again 🥺 Best compliment ever. Him and I are officially besties now.

Wishing everyone a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend 🤍

Looking forward to a weekend full of sessions where kids get to just be themselves, move, and have fun — I actually count on that energy— that’s when the real smiles show up.

So excited to see all my families this weekend!

Daddy’s girl. 🤍 I know a lot of times dads d Daddy’s girl. 🤍

I know a lot of times dads don’t really want to be at the family session. Usually mom is the one who booked it and dragged them along. In our industry we jokingly call them the “grumpy dads.”

But dads with their kids is actually one of my favorite things to photograph.

I fell in love with photography by photographing my husband with our kids, so moments like this always take me right back to those early days of discovering how powerful photography can be.

And the funny thing is… the “grumpy dad” thing usually disappears pretty quickly once they realize they don’t have to stand there and smile at the camera the whole time. They just get to hang out and love on their babies.

This sweet family had just finished remodeling their house when their little one arrived, so it felt like the perfect moment to document this new chapter of their lives.

Before heading outside for sunset, we turned one of their spare bedrooms into a simple natural-light studio. Sometimes the most beautiful newborn portraits happen in the quietest corners of a home.

And this baby… truly one of the calmest and happiest little souls I’ve photographed. Those eyes and that sleepy yawn completely stole the show. 🤍

At the time I loved it for the light and the moment — my hubby lifting our baby girl while our boys played. What I didn’t realize then was how much more meaning it would hold as the years passed.

That’s the quiet power of photography.

A photograph grows more valuable with time. It holds onto childhood even as our children grow into young adults and preserves the fleeting seasons of life that slip through our fingers.

That is the heart of why I do this work.

Our lives are short. The moments that shape them are fleeting — and capturing them honestly and beautifully is something I will never take lightly.
