What to Expect
If you ache for authentic photos of you and your people, well… you have come to the right place, my friend. My photography style is relaxed, fun, and free-flowing with a focus on connection, and storytelling. During our session, I will prompt and direct you into connection, and then document the magic as it unfolds in front of my camera. Your only job is to to show up ready to love on your humans. Pretty easy, right?
From Start to Finish
Our session will begin with some posed portraits. After we capture the more classic images, our session will become more relaxed and fun. I will document love-soaked images full of intimate moments, fun times, and all the beautiful chaos that defines this season of your life.
If you have trouble being in front of the camera (like me!) don’t worry. I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve to help you focus on each other and not my camera. I will guide and direct you throughout the entire session to open space for authentic and emotive moments to happen naturally.
Our session will end with some more posed images. These are always some of my favorites. There is nothing like an entire family looking at the camera full of happiness, laughter, love, peace, comfort, contentment, etc.
It's a joint effort to make photographs you can feel.
To get the best results, and to create images that are unique and meaningful, you have to let go of being nervous about your photos taken. Be vulnerable and trust my process. I know it’s hard, but if you’re nervous and you feel insecure, it’s going to show up in your pictures. These are the photos that your kids and grandkids are going to look back at to remember you, so if you want to look like yourself in the photos, you have to show up and be yourself so that I able to capture that. I promise you’ll look amazing!
Don’t be afraid to move around and talk during our session. The more realistic your interactions are, the more realistic and cherished your images will be. Don’t worry, I will move you if you look too stiff. I will tell you to stand up straight if you’re slouching, and I will fix your hair and clothes when needed. Your only job is to show up relaxed, ready to love on your humans. Photo sessions don’t have to feel like a chore. I will make sure it’s fun, stress-free, and something you look forward to every year. So, relax and enjoy!
My Why...
In a deeply personal way, photography helps me experience my family, as well as the world around me. Even as a child, I remember mourning the passing of time, and that ache grew even more prominent when I became a mother. When I discovered photography, it was as if the heavens opened up. I realized that a photograph, taken with a keen eye for light, allowed me to stay in a meaningful moment long after it passed. A photograph can literally defeat times insatiable appetite, and hold memories of children even as they grow into adults. That is the root of my WHY and the driving force behind my business. It's such an honor to freeze moments in history for my clients and future generations of their families. Our lives are so very short and having authentic moments captured forever is extraordinarily important and something I do not take lightly.
